The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Center for Climate and Weather Prediction was featured in the February issue of Landscape Architect and Specifier News magazine. For the project, MCLA was partnered with a team of HOK architects, landscape architects, and planners to develop the award-winning building, creating a plan in lockstep with the climatic and environmental mission of NOAA. Located on a 10-acre site adjacent to the University of Maryland in College Park, the new facility is intended to foster synergy between university researchers and NOAA staff.
The NOAA Center for Climate and Weather Protection was recently certified as a LEED Gold building by the U.S. Green Building Council.
