In March 2014, Richard Falconer joined MCLA as a Senior Designer. Prior to joining MCLA, Richard worked in architectural lighting design in Southern California and in the Philadelphia area. He brings diverse experience in entertainment and casino, performing arts, healthcare, and science and technology projects. Several of his previous projects were honored by the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) during his tenure in the Philadelphia metropolitan area and Southern California. Currently he is working on a number of projects ranging from corporate offices and interiors, higher education, multi-family residential, and K-12 education projects. As a long-term member of Toastmasters International, he recently joined the local chapter, Aesthetic Voices. He is an Associate Member of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) and Lighting Certified (LC) with the National Council on Qualifications for Lighting Professions (NCQLP). Richard is a graduate of the University of Southern California with both a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in Theater Design.
In June 2014, Kaitlin Fuller was promoted to a Project Manager with MCLA. She first joined MCLA in 2007 and returned to us in 2011. During her time here she has been a valuable member of our team – assisting with lighting design and management on a number of hospitality, higher education, multi-family residential, and K-12 education projects. Her experience includes design on the Holton Arms School in Bethesda and working with our Senior Designer on the award-winning University of Baltimore Law Center and Marriott Marquis near the Washington Convention Center. Over the last few years, Kate has led the use and training of Revit, a building information modeling (BIM) program for several projects. In 2012, she became a LEED Green Associate and was awarded as one of the Emerging Lighting Design Professionals by the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD). Kate is a graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Interior Architecture, focusing on furniture and product design.
Also in June 2014, Sarah Wujcik was promoted to an Associate Designer with MCLA. After graduating from Pennsylvania State University with both a Masters and Bachelor of Architectural Engineering with a focus on electrical and lighting design. Sarah joined MCLA in May 2012 and quickly become a valuable team member. She has worked on a number of projects – ranging from corporate office buildings, government agency tenant interiors, bank retail interiors, and multi-family residential. Some of her projects include the tenant space for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services and several MetLife and TowneBank projects. Earlier this year, Sarah became a LEED Green Associate and Junior Associate Member of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD).
