“Everything on the property is LED by intention,” said Maureen Moran, founder and principal, of MCLA. “Their attributes in energy efficiency, flexibility, size, controllability and color were all pluses. They helped the building earn LEED Gold for New Construction. A Crestron central lighting control system communicates to a networked system for other building controls.”
MCLA worked closely with the client and design team, led by Architect-of-Record SmithGroupJJR. Late last year MGM National Harbor became the first integrated resort to achieve LEED-NC Gold building certification in the Washington, D.C., region.
